南塘村是盐田畲族乡的行政村，位于乡南部，南临盐田湾，与沙江镇交界，距乡政府约10千米。[1]

村辖南塘、南湾、海边、缸窑下、金海五个自然村，据博雅地名网，全村460户、1998人，其中畲族676人，未注统计时间。[1][2]

上游建有乡内最大的青皎水库，村中有水湖溪流过。村名因先人围垦海塘、村处青胶片南部而得名。[1][2]

2021年12月，南塘村被评为「2021年宁德市乡村文化振兴示范村」；2022年10月，被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
