洋潭村在惠东县安墩镇，村名取自旧时低洼积水的地势。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村址地势低，旧时下雨之后到处积水，故称洋潭。[1]
洋潭在1951年12月是惠阳县第二十区下的小乡，1956年升为中心乡，1957年底并入安墩乡，1958年起为管理区，1962年成大队；1984年复为乡，1987年3月依惠东府函〔1987〕8号文设村委，1999年称洋潭村委会。[1]
