大闸村在佛山市顺德区乐从镇西南端，邻近325国道与国际家具城，面积约3.78平方千米，清康熙年间成村，因村边的三眼石闸得名[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
清康熙年间（1662至1722年），因村中土壤肥沃，周边居民来此落脚，渐成村落；同治三年（1864年）为修玉带围，在迳口河筑起三眼大石闸调节水位，村因此叫大闸[1]。村南是顺德水道，北为迳口河，河网密布，基塘遍布[1]。清康熙年间属顺德县马宁都水藤堡，光绪三十四年（1908年）属第五区[1]。
经济与设施[edit]
村情材料记常住4556人，1057户，耕地3000亩，其中鱼塘2200亩，以养加州鲈、鳗鱼为主；下设12个村民小组和1个股份社，两个工业区合计570亩[2]。村内有大闸门诊部、大闸小学、幼儿园、文体康乐中心和市场等[2]。
