荷村在佛山市顺德区乐从镇北面，距镇区2公里，面积约1.782平方千米，原名何家村，后因多姓聚居改称荷村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
南宋咸淳九年至十年（1273至1274年），南雄珠玑巷事件后，何氏族人来此开村，起初叫“何家村”。后来这里成了多姓杂居之地，不宜再用一姓作村名，又要体现对开村者的尊重，于是以谐音改为荷村[1]。民国时属平桂乡，新中国成立初属桂腾乡，1958年设荷村大队，1983年起称村，1989年起叫管理区，1999年8月改称村委会[1]。
经济与人口[edit]
博雅地名网记载：常住人口3995人，1115户，耕地250亩，其中鱼塘190亩，养殖以四大家鱼为主；下设15个村民小组和1个股份社；工商业用地660亩，厂房、商铺和仓库合计150多家[1]。2009年的统计是：工农业总产值约3.96亿元，财政收入1711万元，股份分红每股1500元[1]。2020、2021、2022年连续入选淘宝村[1]。
