劳村在佛山市顺德区乐从镇东南部，距镇区约4公里，面积约4.8平方千米，旧称“小劳子”，清光绪年间定名劳村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
博雅地名网引述的传说：南宋咸淳九年至十年（1273至1274年）南雄珠玑巷事件后，罗树贵一行的部分人来此定居；另一说法是居民先祖来自山东玉屏山。开村之初劳姓人口很少，村称“小劳子”，明初改叫“小劳”，清光绪十年中法战争时顺德筹办团防，更名劳村[1]。
行政隶属上，宋元时属南海县，明景泰三年（1452年）划入顺德县西淋都鹭州堡，民国时为顺德县第五区劳村乡；1961年属沙滘区，1983年属乐从区劳村乡，1991年起为乐从镇劳村管理区，2002年起为劳村村委会[1]。
经济与人口[edit]
村情材料记常住人口5136人，1509户，耕地2905亩，其中鱼塘2285亩，下设22个村民小组和1个股份社；有大沙泡、高田朗、大田朗、花场4个工业区，合计280亩[2]。
