新隆社区是汕头市金平区鮀莲街道下辖的社区，在街道中部，处于莲塘片区与鮀南片区的交界，居委会设在新隆四巷15号。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年，澄海县城关区的商业、手工业者和工人迁到原莲塘村匏靴蒂山下居住，转为农民，村名叫新农村。「隆」与「农」谐音，后改称新隆。[1]
新农村在行政上长期归莲塘乡，集体经济则独立核算，直到1997年莲塘撤村设居委时才单独设新隆居委会。1996年12月撤镇后属莲塘街道，2001年12月属鮀莲街道。[1]
人口民族[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，共119户、473人；总面积0.74平方公里，含水田90亩，池塘170亩，山地30亩。[1]
经济[edit]
以种养业为主，约一半居民在家从事传统种养，另一半外出打工或兼业。[1]
文化[edit]
新隆社区列入省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布），2026年3月又被认定为省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
