南和社区属新津街道，是陈厝合片的城区社区，名称取原陈厝合大队南队片的“南”与老祠堂“益和社”的“和”。[1]

1993年5月陈厝合村撤销村委会、设立6个居委会时成立，2002年改称南和社区居民委员会。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代为澄海县蓬洲都辖地，民国属该县第三区。1953年设下蓬区陈厝合乡，之后随大队、公社的调整多次改隶。1992年7月，陈厝合村划归新津街道；1993年5月村委会被撤销，原村分设为6个居委会，本社区是其一。2002年起称社区居民委员会。[2]
