泽湖社区位于新津河西侧，原属辛厝寮村，名称来自村中的一个风水堀“潭水”。[1]

村子起初叫吴谭村，因清乾隆年间吴、谭两姓村民先迁来此地从事渔耕；村里有谭姓的一个风水堀叫“潭水”，到1994年11月设居委会，便另取了文雅的泽湖为名。[1][3]
社区居委会1995年成立，辖区0.18平方公里，共252亩地，居民614人（农业户口302人，非农业户口312人）。金港街、马爷街在辖区内的路段，分别于1990年、1993年铺成水泥路。村民世代种水稻、玉米、地瓜、花生和黄豆，如今多外出务工。[1][3]
在2019年9月公布的名单中，入选广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
清代为澄海县蓬洲都辖地，民国属该县第三区。1953年设下蓬区辛厝寮乡，之后随大队、公社的调整多次改隶。1992年7月，辛厝寮村划归新津街道；1994年11月村委会被撤销，原村分设为9个居委会，本社区是其一。2002年起称社区居民委员会。[2]
