高埕社区在新津河西岸，原属辛厝寮村，因地势稍高的一片埕地得名。[1]
概况[edit]
居委会成立于1995年，东至新津河，南接珠津工业区，西到韶山路，北邻周厝塭，面积约0.38平方公里，有常住人口1272人、512户，居民以纪、陈两姓为主，从事务农、养殖、小商贩和务工。近年社区修通了贯穿辖区的水泥路，并建有文化广场、图书室、篮球场与文化楼。[1][3]
汕头市于2007年授予它先进文明社区，2009年又授予先进体育社区称号。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
清代为澄海县蓬洲都辖地，民国属该县第三区。1953年设下蓬区辛厝寮乡，之后随大队、公社的调整多次改隶。1992年7月，辛厝寮村划归新津街道；1994年11月村委会被撤销，原村分设为9个居委会，本社区是其一。2002年起称社区居民委员会。[2]
