历史沿革[edit]

1957年，本地与邻近数村组成一个乡。1958年，超美公社设立下村管区，1959年改称占陇公社下村管区，1963年设下村大队。此后历经乡、管理区等变化，1999年改称下村村委会，此名沿用至今。[1]

三都书院的始建年份为1830年，即清道光十年，主持者是知县陈凤图。其原址位于本村地界。[2][3]

2019年9月，下村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
