2020年8月，下村以茶叶入选广东省首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单[1]。2023年11月，下村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村[1]。揭阳市于2023年12月认定下村为2023年度市级森林乡村[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

南方人民银行纪念馆位于本村[2]。1949年4月，中共中央同意华南分局组建南方人民银行，由华南分局的蔡馥生、赵元浩二人负责筹备[1]。
