地名由来[edit]

新民村建国后由原地析置而设，取人民当家作主之意，故名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1952年设新民乡。1958年以大队形式归明迳公社管辖，称新民大队。1986年起改为村委会，隶属明迳乡；1998年10月又正式定名为新民村委会，沿用至今[1]。

农业[edit]

农业结构调整以后，本村种植的经济作物和沙糖桔等水果增多，效果不错[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予新民村「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号[1]。
