白沙村是广东省清远市英德市白沙镇下辖的行政村，村委会位于镇的东南面，距镇政府约5公里，全村辖36个自然村[1]。村内耕地平坦、水源充足，以粮食为主，农业结构调整后大量种植沙田柚等名优水果[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

白沙这片地方早在明代洪武初年就已有建制，名字来自白沙河流经的一带[2]。进入清代后，它先隶属象冈都与平图，到1836年才以洪象乡的名义出现[2]。二十世纪五十年代末这里先后成立乡和大队；八十年代初改为乡政府，1986年起以村委会的形式运作；1990年一度是管理区，最后于1998年10月7日定为村委会，一直沿用至今[3]。

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，村名的由来是：一带地层属花岗岩，河畔的沙滩为白色泥沙，故名白沙[4]。
