五村是高州市潭头镇的行政村，由五个小村合成一个村，因而叫五村[1]。
地名由来与沿革[edit]
由野猩颈、古胜塘、樟岸坡、竹土化口和坡尾五个小村并成一村，故名五村[1]。1961年成立潭头公社时，这里的生产大队叫大垌，即今天的五村[2]。到1983年称五村乡，1986年起为农村管理区，1999年起为五村村民委员会[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2021年12月，获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。
