地名由来[edit]

此地处于古牛山往南至大庞洞的山口之间。明代，当地瑶族人称之为山庞洞或小庞洞。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年，村子自庞洞乡析出，另设古山乡。1958年，古山乡的一部分划出，设为山口大队。此后1983年转设乡政府，1986年组建村委会，1989年归入管理区。[1]

1999年2月6日，阳春市政府依批示设立山口村委会，此名延续至今。[1]
