赤坎村是化州市丽岗镇北部的行政村，辖16个村民小组，在册1089户、5235人，面积8.2平方千米，耕地2800亩。[1]
广东省乡村振兴局在2022年1月确定赤坎村为乡村治理示范村创建单位（2021年度），次年4月公布的2022年度创建名单里它也在列。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国时期赤坎一带归尖岗乡；1949年后土地改革期间曾单设赤坎乡。1958年划入镇安公社，叫赤坎大队，1983年称赤坎乡，1987年并入丽岗乡。1988年建丽岗镇后称赤坎村民委员会，1989年一度叫赤坎管理区办事处，1999年起又称赤坎村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

该村年平均气温约23℃，年降雨量约1705毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。[1]
经济[edit]
村里种水稻、花生、番薯和玉米，村内山林连片，特色收入是丰产林；博雅地名网的村概况还记载近年村道硬底化到各村民小组，防洪能力也有提高。[1][2]
