金鸡村是吴川市樟铺镇下辖的行政村，位于市境西北部丘陵地带，辖8条自然村、12个村民小组，总人口6430人，是革命老区村庄[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
1952年设金鸡垌行政村，属第二区（振文）；1957年为金鸡垌乡，1958年为金鸡垌大队，1961年划归樟铺小公社，1964年易名爱民大队，1975年转属樟铺公社。1981年又叫金鸡大队，1983年为乡委会，1987年为乡村民委员会，1989年起称金鸡村委会，沿用至今[1]。
经济与社会[edit]
村里耕地2580亩，林地5200亩，水果350亩，鱼塘380亩；以水稻为主，兼种花生，自然村的集体收入多来自林业，养猪和养中鸡是村民的特色产业；2007年村民人均纯收入1600元[2]。有金鸡、石狗、山口3所小学，学生约800人[2]。2005年湛江市烟草专卖局工作队进驻，筹资95万元，修通了通往樟铺镇的2.5公里硬底化路，路面宽6米，随后，上金鸡、下金鸡、石狗塘、黎村和官埇几个自然村也各修了环村路[2]。5条自然村是吴川市文明村[1]。
