白沙街道是广东省阳江市江城区下辖的街道，由原属阳东县的白沙镇于2003年撤镇设立。街道辖1个社区和12个行政村，辖区面积约89.3平方千米，第七次全国人口普查时人口约3.89万人。[1][2][5]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网称，街道因境内的白沙坪得名。[1] 下辖的白沙村另有来历，据同一网站所载，该村因靠近古白沙圩而得名。[3][6]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代，今街道所在地分属归善乡的虔儒都与太平乡的端逢都，各辖若干图。[2]

1957年撤区之后，这里先分设白沙、三麻两乡，次年两乡合为白沙乡，年底又分入双捷、平冈两个公社。1961年5月析出白沙公社，直属县；1963年2月改为普通公社。[2][4]

1983年11月公社改为区建制，白沙区随之设立；1987年2月区撤，改称白沙镇，归阳江县。1988年阳江县升为地级市，白沙镇转入阳东区；1991年又归阳东县。[2]

2003年白沙镇改设街道、划归江城区，街道办事处驻于原白沙镇政府所在地。博雅地名网历史页记此次划归为2003年5月28日，概况页则提到一份2003年11月的批复，两说不同，本条依历史页。[1][2]

人口与面积[edit]

博雅地名网记街道辖区面积约89.3平方千米，在江城区各街道乡镇中排首位。[1] 第七次全国人口普查之后，2021年6月公布的数字是约3.89万人，在江城区排第7位。概况页在叙述2003年划归时，另记总人口41799人、常住户籍41272人，当时管着1个社区和10个村委会。[1]

村社[edit]

街道辖1个社区（白沙社区）和12个行政村。各村建村年代不一：埠头村据称南宋末年已有关姓人家迁居建村，马岗村为明代张姓人家迁来后所建，石河村则于民国十年（1921年）由几大姓先后迁入后建村。[4]

村名各有来历：福岗村由福边村（今塘边村）与卸岗村各取一字得名；大岗村因辖区内山岗多而得名；麻桥村一带则与明初恩平来的冯氏有关，其族在麻桥、罗琴设牛栏，后繁衍成十一条自然村。[3]

在“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村的名单上，白沙村（2021年9月，第二批，丝苗米）、冈华村（2020年8月，首批，狮头鹅）与华陈村（2021年9月，第二批，狮头鹅）都有名。[6][7][8]

在“百千万工程”的典型认定里，石河村于2023年11月被列为首批典型县镇村之一，马岗村2026年1月为第二批典型村，福岗村2026年3月认定为第三批典型村镇。[9][10][11]

名胜古迹[edit]

博雅地名网列出的名胜为阳江围歼战革命烈士纪念园，纪念碑位于马岗村佛子岭。纪念碑1997年10月由阳江市委、市政府主持重建，1998年3月20日竣工，之后被定为阳江市爱国主义教育基地。[9]
