新民村位于广东省河源市东源县上莞镇。清乾隆二十年，陈姓村民由新伦村迁到此地建村，建村时间在镇内相对较晚，村名“新民”由此而来[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年时名为新民大队，1983年改称新民乡，1987年成为新民管理区。1999年，东源县政府批准设立了新民村委会，此后沿用至今[1][2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

「君陈小学--中共河西县委遗址」位于本村。中共后东特委于1941年9月在东江河西岸设立河西县委员会，1942年1月起实行特派员制，县委机关便设在君陈小学内。该址在人民公社时期被拆除，原地后改作村卫生站[3]。
