砂塘村在蓝塘镇，当地盛产沙塘桔，村名由此而来。博雅地名网把它写作「沙塘村」，名录与沿革说明中则作「砂塘」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

砂塘在1958年编为蓝塘公社的砂塘大队，1982年前未变。改革开放以后依次为乡（1983年）、村委会（1987年）、管理区（1989年）；1999年管理区撤销，成立砂塘村民委员会，至今未变。[1]

2026年1月，砂塘村被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

经济[edit]

2019年，砂塘村与双兴、白沙、建联同为镇里的省定贫困村，建新农村示范村，砂塘与建联两村已建成集中供水工程。[2]
