赤岭村处在河源市区的最南端，三面与惠州市博罗县交界，总面积2.5平方公里。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

本地是丘陵，岭面上过去散布一种叫“红珠”的红色小石子，故称赤岭。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年为赤岭乡，1958年编作大队，1983年复称乡，1987年建村委会，1990年一度为管理区，1999年区撤销，村委会至今未变。[3]

村情[edit]

全村386户2052人，半数以上是新丰江水库移民。下有瓦窑塘、赤岭、连塘、埔唇、沥背5个自然村，分8个村民小组。耕地1656亩，村民以种水稻、花生为主，上年度村集体收入约15万元。村里有小学、卫生站和约250平方米的综合文化服务中心。[2]
