东石村在东涌镇西北部，距镇中心3公里、距市区7公里，北面与海丰县赤坑镇相邻，西面是红草镇。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前，石奎、虎头兰、崎坑、大陂头、大园和芦列坑六个村合称半径洞；芦列坑分出后改称东石乡。解放后与今东涌、品清两村合为东品乡，属东冲区。1965年设东石大队，归东涌公社；1989年改为东石管理区；1999年成立东石村委会。[1]

地理与经济[edit]

村域面积3平方千米，境内有石奎水库和虎头兰山塘，耕地共1458亩。汕可公路穿村而过，厦深铁路的客运站和货运站都建在村里。下辖崎坑、虎头兰、大园、石奎、大坡头五个自然村，483户、2800人，设一所全日制小学，铺有3.6公里硬底化村路。村内有大小养殖场10个，种荔枝、龙眼、香蕉和蔬菜。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，进入2018年度「广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之列；同年10月入选省卫生村名录；2021年12月获省卫生村称号；2022年8月又被定为2022年度该项创建单位。[1]
