河背社区是兴宁市兴田街道的社区，在城区西片，辖6个村民小组，面积约3平方千米。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

“河背”之名，因社区靠近宁江河西侧而来。[1]河背村委会于1999年成立，到2004年改称河背社区居委会，名称一直沿用。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网记，社区在册5023户、10071人；社区的特色收入是出租门店，所记上一年的农村经济总收入为35万元。[1]名列广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，名单于2019年9月公布。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

两海会馆在神光路5号的河背街，由到兴宁做生意的潮汕商人出资，于清嘉庆十一年（1806年）建成；广东省人民政府2002年7月将其列为省级文物保护单位（第四批）。[2]
