铁炉村在华城镇西北部，邻岐岭镇；当地相传村名源于「跌箩坝」，因谐音写作铁炉。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，相传约六百年前钟氏祖先挑着担子来此择居，箩索忽然断裂，箩筐落地，这里便称跌箩坝，「跌箩」与「铁炉」音近，遂写作铁炉。[1]

沿革[edit]

解放前属铁葵乡，解放后属董化乡，归华城人民公社，设铁炉大队；1980年至1989年称河子口公社铁炉大队，1987年归华城区公所，为铁炉管理区，1999年改为铁炉村委会。[1]

概况[edit]

村辖31个村民小组，页面所载在册738户、3558人，耕地1580亩，土地总面积6.8平方公里。铁炉村列入2017年10月公布的第一批广东省卫生村名单。[1]
