在龙门县麻榨镇境内，坳头村为镇属十八个行政村之一。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年9月隶下麻乡；1951年底属南滩乡；1957年底属麻榨乡南滩村；1958年10月起为南滩大队；1961年划给桂村大队，1963年1月重回南滩大队；1973年另立坳头大队；1984年3月归南滩乡；1987年2月设村民委员会，至1989年10月叫管理区，1999年5月后为现名。[1]

坳头村在2022年1月被广东省乡村振兴局确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位。[1]
