淡环村围绕淡水老城区，村民委员会的前身是1965年设立的淡环大队。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

因辖区环绕着淡水老城区，称淡环。最初是1965年的淡环大队，其后于1982年2月8日改为管理区，到1999年成为村民委员会。[1]

区域与人口[edit]

村东连红星、坝尾两个社区，南面和西面与上塘社区相邻，北临淡水河，面积约0.32平方公里。据该页，有常住638户、1930人，村委会设在横头街。[1]

2019年9月，淡环村被列为「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2021年12月，获授「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
