大垌村是肇庆市四会市江谷镇下辖的行政村，在镇西北部，与广宁县潭布镇相邻，是山区和革命老区村[1]。

名称由来[edit]

清光绪年间，莫姓族人来此定居耕种，当地有一片大麻竹，起初叫大竹垌；后来为开良田砍去了麻竹，改称大垌[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年称小坑乡、五星社，1960年立大垌大队，1987年改称管理区，1998年成立村民委员会。2003年，严坑、大垌、顺带三个村民委员会合并为现在的大垌村[1]。

地理与经济[edit]

村域面积23平方公里，下设32个村民小组，人口3032人（资料未注明年份）。村内的小瓮、石牛山等地，是解放战争时期山区游击队的活动中心。村民多靠山林耕作和外出打工为生，近年发展沙糖桔、竹子种植，并修通了顺带至广宁县潭布镇的水泥公路[1]。2019年9月，村进入「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年度创建单位名单[1]。
