上等村是高州市荷花镇东部的行政村，下设12个村民小组，总面积4平方千米，耕地1118亩，据百度百科有397户、1845人。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地叫下大埇。村里最高处有几亩梯田，被称作上等田，后有人以“上等”为村名，沿用至今。[1]

上等大队原属木头塘大队，1961年体制下放时分出，公社认定上等一带较为集中，便在此设大队部，称上等大队。1983年改设乡，1986年改设农村管理区，1999年起为村民委员会。[1]

据百度百科，近年村内推进农村公路“单改双”拓宽，「云浮罗定至茂名信宜（粤桂界）高速公路茂名段」的建设用地也涉及村里部分经济合作社的集体土地。[2]
