薪水村是高州市荷花镇东北部的行政村，下设16个村民小组，据百度百科户籍人口3115人，总面积8平方千米。[2]村名由薪田、白水两个村合并而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

薪田、白水两村并成一个村委会，各取一字，得名薪水。1961年体制下放时称薪水大队，1983年改设乡，1986年改设农村管理区，1999年起为村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

2019年9月，薪水村列入「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的2018年度名单；2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号。[1]

经济[edit]

据百度百科，薪水村主要种香蕉，皮革加工、速生桉和山地鸡养殖是主要产业，山地鸡有5个规模化养殖场，每年出栏10万只以上。[2]
