红旗街道是广东省茂名市茂南区下辖的街道，位于茂名市区，辖7个社区，属主城区。[1]街道因城区的红旗路得名，1981年设立，1985年起归茂南区管辖。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

隋代，这一带属新置的茂名县。[1]茂名市于1959年3月设立。[1]到1981年6月，市里原有的街道全部撤销，重新划出5个，红旗街道即为其一，由市直接管辖；其后茂南区于1985年成立，街道改归该区。[1]

街道的名称来自红旗路。茂名建市之初，城区先建成纵横两条主干道，一条是油城路，另一条就是红旗路，1981年设街道时即以后者命名。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

街道辖区面积约6平方千米，人口密度约每平方千米3800人。[1]据2020年第七次全国人口普查，辖区人口约2.28万人，在茂南区各街道、乡镇中位列第14。[1]

下辖社区[edit]

街道下辖建设、龙山、滨河、红旗南、新林、文冲、高山7个社区，均属主城区。社区名称多取自居委会驻地的路名、地名或方位，其中龙山、滨河、建设、文冲几个社区由原有的居委会合并或拆分而来，高山社区则在1999年才划入街道。[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

  • 建设社区：以驻地建设路得名，由新中、建设、新建3个居委会合并组建。[2]
  • 龙山社区：以驻地龙山得名，由龙塘、龙山两个居委会合并而成。[3]
  • 滨河社区：驻地华山直街临小东江，故名，由滨河与红旗大院两个社区居委会合并而成。[4]
  • 红旗南社区：因驻地在红旗街道南部得名。[5]
  • 新林社区：因驻地靠近新林一路得名。[6]
  • 文冲社区：设街道办事处之初分文冲一、二居委会，后以油城路为界，文冲二居委划归河西街道。[7]
  • 高山社区：以驻地高山村得名，1999年划归红旗街道并设居委会。[8]
