岭头村在双水镇北部，距双水圩约1.2公里。村名是为了怀念祖居地南雄的岭头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传南宋咸淳年间（1265年—1274年），邓、冯等姓先祖从南雄岭头迁来立村，仍称岭头。[1] 清康熙县志记其属潮居都十一图；民国时属第七区九联乡，1950年代曾先后并入四联乡、双水乡，1958年归济堂管理区，1959年单设岭头大队；1999年起为岭头村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内设9个村民小组，面积约4平方千米，有857户、2955人。[1] 耕地中水稻1170亩，另有鱼塘70亩，养殖四大家鱼等。[1] 2010年的资料记人均收入约5500元，集体收入30万元。[1] 村东濒临潭江，一带有双水发电厂和纸厂，村东至衙前村一带被规划为纸业基地。[1]
