联新社区地处佛山市南海区西樵镇北部，西隔民乐涌与民乐社区相望，东临樵金路，是以工业为主的社区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明末清初，这一带属鼎安都；同治年间归江浦司；民国时期属云津堡崇德乡，新中国成立初仍是崇德乡的一部分。[2]

1953年土改后，崇德乡一分为三，即崇北、崇中、崇南，今联新境内的北塱、鹅湖、鹅湄、符村等归崇中乡；革新、爱群两村则于次年划给华夏乡。[2]

1961年，五联、南新两村组成联新大队，革新、爱群组成爱新大队，同属民乐公社；1963年2月两队合一，沿用联新之名，队址设在鹅湖村的蚕房。[2]

1983年底公社撤销，改立联新乡，1985年10月在北塱村高家渡头边建起新乡址。南海区人民政府以南府复〔2011〕204号文批准，于2011年3月10日设立联新社区。[2]

经济[edit]

社区简介称面积1.6平方公里，另一处写法是3.7平方公里（含厂房住宅约1.7平方公里）。下辖13个村民小组，共1279户，户籍人口4152人。产业以工业为主，包括建筑陶瓷的生产加工、纺织、印染和五金。[1]
