民乐社区位于佛山市南海区西樵镇，由原民乐村委会改设，总面积5.8平方公里，纺织业是当地的传统产业。民乐一带素有「民乐市，官山墟」的说法。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民乐最初是由儒林、云滘、藻美三乡的居民，加上邻县来的商人、小贩和手工业者聚居而成。民国十六年（1927年）属云津堡，1946年称民乐乡，土改后沿用此名。^[3]

1958年秋改称民乐大队。三年后属民乐公社，辖地曾分为和平、云滘、东约、民星、儒林、大地塱六个大队，到1963年2月又合成民乐大队。^[3]

1983年底成立民乐乡，后来先后称行政村和管理区（1989年6月）；1999年5月起设民乐村民委员会，2011年「村改居」，设居民委员会。^[3]

社区下辖14条自然村、18个管理小组，农业常住人口约6950人（约2150户），耕地4858亩。^[2]

社区内有纺织、印染、五金、家具等近400家企业；其中纺织业历史最久，占全村经济总量的75%以上。商业和服务业也很活跃。^[2]
