历史沿革[edit]
1927年归第八区简村堡管，50年代初属简官乡，土改时另立岭西乡。1956年成立高级农业生产合作社，羔州村叫五一社，凰岗村叫五爱社，禄舟村叫五星社。[2]
1958年称岭西营，1959年办起西樵公社综合农场；1961年三社各成一个大队，1963年2月合为岭西大队。1983年底成立岭西乡，其后改称行政村、管理区，1999年5月设村民委员会。[2]
地理环境[edit]
村域面积4.6平方公里，紧邻听音湖；西面是海舟村，南面是儒溪村，北面连着简村和爱国村。全村分3个自然村、17个经济社。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内留有黄飞鸿故居和黄君璧纪念馆。[3]
经济[edit]
岭西村以「红棉议事厅」推行村民自治，推动鱼塘集约改造，并办成了佛山市第一宗农村集体资产的市级网上竞投。[3]2024年8月，岭西村进入佛山市「百千万工程」第二批典型镇村名单，2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
