历史沿革[edit]
1927年，崇南大部分属吉利堡，碧霞、大庄两地归云津堡；1946年整编后属崇德乡，1953年土改结束划为崇南乡。[2]
1961年8月，辖地曾拆成正义、南政、明德、解放、民主、安定、民强七个大队，隶属西樵公社，1963年2月合并为崇南大队。[2]
1983年底成立崇南乡，随后称行政村，1989年6月起为镇的管理区，1999年5月起设村民委员会；2011年「村改居」，设崇南居民委员会。[2]
人口民族[edit]
社区下辖26个村民小组，分属7个自然村，常住6599人（1991户），流动人口约3000人。[1]
经济[edit]
社区里有193家厂企、370间店铺、1个综合市场和2座商业城，经济以纺织为主，兼有陶瓷加工与商贸饮食。[1]2019年9月，它进入广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
