历史沿革[edit]
1927年属一区镇涌堡；1930年称西岸五约乡，1946年改称西岸乡。1953年归九江区，分成西岸一乡、二乡，1957年又划属西南乡。[3]
1958年秋，西岸划入西樵公社，1961年8月转回九江区河清公社，当时拆成八个大队：大槎、朝东、六村、银岗、宫溪、碧岸、坑尾和理学堂，1963年才重新合成西岸大队。[3]
1994年3月起纳入西樵山旅游度假区的范围，同年4月设西岸开发区；1997年6月设西岸镇，2001年12月撤销，并入西樵区，改设西岸村民委员会。2011年「村改居」后，成为西岸居民委员会。[3]
