下桥村在司马浦镇镇区西面，面积0.435平方千米，有281户、1684人。[1]村建在低洼处，附近有小桥，故名下桥。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，下桥创村于明嘉靖年间，即1522年至1566年间，明清至民国初年属潮阳县黄陇都，1921年属潮阳县第九区。[1]村级建制的演变，自近及远是：1999年恢复村委会，1986年改村委会，1983年属三联乡，1958年公社化时称下桥大队，1950年属溪尾乡。[1]

经济[edit]

工业有饰品、内衣、电器等。[1]广东省爱卫会在2023年5月，把「2022年广东省卫生村」的称号给了下桥村。[1]
