历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，下底创村于明洪武二十七年（1394年），窖美创村于元至正年间，即1341年至1369年间。两处明清至民国初年属潮阳县洋乌都，1921年属潮阳县第九区。[1]村级建制的演变，自近及远是：1999年恢复村委会，1986年改村委会，1983年合并为下美乡，1958年公社化时分称下底大队、窖尾大队，1950年同属上练乡。[1]
经济[edit]
农业以水稻为主，工业有服装、化工等。[1]2023年5月，下美村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
