光明社区在汕头市潮阳区和平镇，位于练江北畔，原名草塭，现名由黄光、黄明两个初级社合并而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村志类材料称此地明正统年间（1436—1449年）本是黄氏的水塭，后来淤成陆地，祖先到此立村，称黄厝塭村。1958年起为草塭农业生产大队，1984年改作草塭乡，1999年改称光明村委会，2002年改设居民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

简介称社区有295户、1855人，耕地150亩，山地160亩，企业1家，村民收入主要来自二、三产业（简介未注年份）。[1]2017年10月获第一批广东省卫生村称号，2019年9月进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单，2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
