临昆上社区在汕头市潮阳区和平镇，坐落在临昆山麓，村分上堡、下堡两处聚落，这里位居上方，故称临昆上。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村志类材料称明天顺四年（1460年）祖先到此创村，名临昆村。1958年临昆上堡村与下堡村合成练北大队，1979年分开，上堡改称练丰村，1988年为练丰管理区；1999年设居委会，名临昆上。[1]
经济[edit]
简介称社区有757户、4457人，土地1878亩，其中耕地170亩、林地1708亩，约七成人口从事二、三产业（简介未注年份）。[1]2019年9月进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
