下厝社区在汕头市潮阳区和平镇，位于广汕公路之南、和惠公路之东，东临海滨。[1]
地名与历史[edit]
村在练江支流的下游，旧称溪头下厝，后来简称下厝。村志类材料称明正统年间（1436—1449年）祖先到此定居。1958年起为下厝农业生产大队，隶和平公社，1984年改作下厝乡，1986年建村委会，1988年改叫管理区，1999年又改居民委员会。[1]

简介称社区总人口20917人，土地8100亩，其中内洋耕地1914亩；村民收入来自种养业与工业，下厝工业区已有三凌公司、万能公司、荣昌公司等企业（简介未注年份）。[1]
