练北社区在汕头市潮阳区和平镇，原名临昆下堡，位于和平往谷饶方向与潮联交界处，村在练江之北，因此得名，由四个自然村组成。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村志类材料称明天顺四年（1460年）祖先来此立村，名临昆村，分上堡、下堡两处聚落，这里是下堡。1958年两堡合成练北大队，1979年分开，称练北村，1986年建村委会，1999年又改居民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
简介称社区有1270户、7553人，土地1250亩，其中耕地399亩，山地2640亩，村前的练北工业区已初具规模（简介未注年份）。[1]2023年5月获2022年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
