南门社区是汕头市金平区金砂街道下辖的社区，金砂街道办事处所在地，居委会设在汕樟路61号，辖4个居民小组。[1][2]名称取自它在金砂乡的南面位置。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区原属金园区金砂街道。南门居委会1978年从金砂居委会（即后来的西门居委会）分出；2002年1月调整，南门原有地域加上西门、北门居委会各一部分，合成现在的南门社区；2003年3月起由金砂街道管辖。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

社区面积0.07平方千米，在金平区人民政府驻地西北约0.98千米。东面从南门巷与新厝大路东座一至十二巷算起，西抵汕樟中学，南临金砂路，北靠明烟路。博雅地名网记为1715户、5564人；辖区有中学2所、小学1所，交通干道有金砂路、汕樟路，还有汕樟立交桥。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，南门社区被列入「2018年广东省‘民主法治示范村（社区）’创建单位」名单。[1]
