历史沿革[edit]
西门居委会的前身叫金砂居委会。1978年从中分出南门居委会，余下部分改名西门居委会；其后居民渐向东迁，1986年底再分出北门居委会；2002年初调整管辖范围，金砂西区的一大片划给了北门。现今的辖区，是原金砂老村约六成的旧房，加上原郊委80年代在周边建起的宿舍。2003年3月起由金砂街道管辖。[1]
地理与人口[edit]
社区面积0.3平方千米，距金平区人民政府驻地约0.93千米，在其西北方。东有东门寨外巷，西靠汕樟路，南到明烟路和宫巷，北到北门池巷。博雅地名网载有1311户、4572人；社区内有小学2所、中学1所，汕樟路是主干道。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，西门社区被列入「2018年广东省‘民主法治示范村（社区）’创建单位」名单。[1]
