南门社区在海丰县城中心的老城区，面积约3平方千米，下辖7个居民小组，户籍人口约1万。辖区内的红场路一带有三处汕尾市文物保护单位。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
南门社区由益子、红城两个街区在1964年合并而来，当时是海城镇第四居委会；2004年改称南门居委会。[1]
地理与设施[edit]
商业街道包括海丽大道、人民路的西段和南段、中山南路，以及红场路、益民街、博约街。医院有彭湃纪念医院和粤东武警医院，南湖客运站也在辖区，海丰中学、第四小学一带亦属本社区；南湖是辖区内的景点。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
2022年3月，汕尾市政府公布第三批市级文物保护单位，社区内有三处入选：「海丰各届人民团体联合会成立旧址」即刘氏家塾，在红场东侧；「东征军黄埔军校政治部旧址」又名海丰工农革命军团队部旧址，建于1925年，对着南湖车站；还有博约街的「共青团海陆丰地委旧址」。[1]
荣誉[edit]
南门社区在2024年1月得到两项2023年度的称号：全国示范性老年友好型社区，以及广东省的民主法治示范村（社区）。[1]
