历史沿革[edit]
1951年设南美村，把城南、凤冈里、望美、池墘一带的农户归在一起，隶城关镇。[2]此后1959年为城关人民公社的南门生产大队，1983年改南门管理区，1986年称南门村；1996年起属凤翔街道，2002年改社区。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，社区仅120户351人，有352亩耕地，九成以上居民从事二、三产业。[1]辖区内有北旱、马头下两处工业区，69家企业以塑料、工艺品、五金为主；2009年工业总产值达3亿元，缴税600万元。[1]
