蔡社社区是广东省汕头市龙湖区鸥汀街道下辖的社区，面积0.9平方千米，在街道东部，隔新津河与外砂镇相对，北面濒梅溪，包括蔡社、上佘社、黄厝等自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村落始建于元末，佘氏的椿山公由月浦（在今金平区月浦街道）迁来建村；明初蔡氏从浙江迁入潮州，再到此地，因多数村民姓蔡，称“蔡社”。[1] 宋代时隶揭阳县蓬洲都，1563年澄海立县后归其管辖。1953年8月设渔上乡（汕头市郊区下蓬区），此后改为渔上生产大队。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区有1952户、5200人，农业人口3275人，分10个居民小组。村中有几十棵古榕，经济以工业为主、农业为辅，集体年收入25万元。[1] 蔡社以糖果闻名，是鸥汀“一居一品”之一。[2]

2023年7月，龙湖区“百千万工程”现场会参观了蔡社价值创新园。这是汕头第一个采用“街道出资、社区出地”办法的“工改工”项目：街道向政府申请专项债券出资建设，蔡社经联社拿出37.294亩国有留用地、使用期45年，建成后经联社分得四分之一的物业。街道规划的北片“古村生态体验区”，即以蔡社古村落群为依托。[3]
