鸥上社区是广东省汕头市龙湖区鸥汀街道下辖的社区，在街道东部，面积1.05平方千米，北边是万吉工业区，南边是汕樟北路，东边隔着新津河，西边紧挨鸥下社区。[1] 腾辉塔、证果寺等古迹在这里。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带古时是海，秦汉时渐成沙洲，因海鸥常来栖息，称“鸥汀坝”，闽方言里“坝”与“背”同音，故又叫鸥汀背。南宋理宗年间，将仕郎袁宏从揭阳渔湖都迁到蓬洲都鸥汀背居住；元末明初人口渐多，村民筑起“鸥汀背城”，明隆庆二年（1568）城楼被海盗林道乾毁坏后重建，改称“鸥汀背寨”。村子在寨的东部，所以叫鸥上。[1]

宋时隶揭阳县蓬洲都，1563年澄海立县后归其管辖。1953年8月设鸥上乡（汕头市郊区下蓬区），此后改为鸥上生产大队。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区面积1.05平方千米，总人口8888人，博雅地名网称是鸥汀街道人口最多的社区；设居民小组7个。2009年人均纯收入4830元。[1] 辖区内有三星级的金海鸥酒店。[1]

2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位中，鸥上在2019年9月公布的名单里。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

  • 腾辉塔：六角七层，高20.3米，塔上加塔的结构全国少见，2012年公布为广东省文物保护单位，位于塔围内一横。[2][3]
  • 证果寺：明代古建筑，汕头市文物保护单位。[4]
  • 辛氏大宗祠：建于清代，在永兴街，属市级文物保护单位，2010年3月公布。[1]
