西畔社区是广东省汕头市龙湖区鸥汀街道下辖的涉农社区，总面积23.399公顷，位于街道西南片，新一中的南面，紧邻鸥下社区。[1] 名称来自它在鸥汀寨的西面。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

因村落在鸥汀寨之西，得名西畔。宋代时隶揭阳县蓬洲都，1563年澄海立县后归其管辖。1953年8月设万吉乡（汕头市郊区下蓬区），此后改为万吉西生产大队。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区有耕地约100亩，常住1748人，共399户，设居民小组4个。集体经济收入主要靠出租集体综合用地，每年约19万元；居民多靠打工和做小生意。社区的党支部、居委会曾获龙湖区计生先进单位、卫生先进单位等称号。[1]
