新马墩村是珠海市斗门区白蕉镇下辖的行政村，前身是六乡镇的马墩村；为给竹银水库建设让路，村子在2011年底整体迁到现址，改名「新马墩」。[1]

地名由来[edit]

「新」取重新开始美好生活之意。「马墩」的来历有两说：一说村内有座马头山，山前一座小丘形似拴马的木墩；一说八仙中的张天师追求何仙姑，从南海追到马墩三门涌，留下「大马追细马，追到三门下」的话。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国后叫马墩村，在新会县第九区竹银乡之内；1965年起编为马墩大队，隶斗门县西安公社；1984年改为马墩乡，隶六乡区；1986年设村委会，隶六乡镇；2002年划入白蕉镇。2005年与孖湾村合并，2011年定名新马墩村委会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

新马墩村在2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年4月列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单；2023年11月入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年4月列入「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]
